Cyprus — the island where history meets the sea
Thousands of years of history, wild nature and the steady wind of Morphou Bay — a short guide for travellers coming to Heaven Surf House.
A crossroads of civilisations
Cyprus is a unique Mediterranean island where thousands of years of history, diverse cultures and stunning nature come together. Known as the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, it has been a crossroads of civilisations: Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Lusignans, Venetians, Ottomans and British.
Each culture left its mark — ancient ruins, castles, monasteries and traditional villages. From archaeological sites like Kourion, Salamis and Paphos (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to medieval fortresses and charming old towns, Cyprus is a living museum under the open sky.
The island’s history is not only visible in its monuments. You feel it in the traditions, the food, the music and the warm hospitality.

Beaches, mountains and wind
Cyprus is the third-largest island in the Mediterranean and offers remarkable variety in a small area: golden beaches, crystal-clear turquoise water, rugged coastline, fertile plains and forested mountains — all within a day.
The Troodos Mountains rise in the centre of the island, with cooler air, hiking trails, waterfalls and traditional mountain villages. The long coastline is made for swimming, water sports and sunsets.
With over 300 sunny days a year, Cyprus is ideal for outdoor living and remote work. Steady winds, a warm climate and wide beaches make it especially good for kitesurfing, surfing and other board sports.
Getting to Heaven Surf House
Heaven Surf House is in the village of Yedidalga near Gemikonağı (Lefke), on the west coast of Morphou Bay (Güzelyurt Körfezi).

Arriving and getting around
The nearest airport is Ercan in North Cyprus, 75 km away; flights to Ercan go via Turkey. Larnaca airport, in the south of the island, is 105 km away — from there you cross to the north at one of the crossing points, so keep your passport or ID card at hand.
Once you are here, you can rent a bike or drive all around the region. The nearest market is a five-minute walk from the camping.

Life moves at a slower, more mindful pace here, and it invites you to connect with nature and with each other. Cyprus is not just a holiday destination — it is a place to feel grounded, inspired and free.
