Camping in North Cyprus: a guide to beach camping on Morphou Bay

Camping in North Cyprus means simple, quiet stays close to nature: a warm sea, long sunny seasons, cool nights and plenty of space. If you are looking for a campsite in Cyprus by the sea, the west coast of Morphou Bay (Güzelyurt Körfezi) is a peaceful corner of the island to pitch your tent. In this guide we explain what to expect from campsites here, what our beach camping in Yedidalga offers, the few rules we keep, the prices and how to book.
We are Heaven Surf House, the first kitesurf school in North Cyprus, with a small camping by the sea in the village of Yedidalga, near Gemikonağı (Lefke). Most of what follows comes from everyday life on our own camp ground.
What to expect from campsites in North Cyprus
Camping in North Cyprus is more about nature than about big holiday parks. Facilities can be very different from one place to the next, so it is worth asking a few questions before you go:
- Shade: the summer sun is strong, and a pitch under the trees makes a big difference.
- Water: are there hot showers, clean toilets and fresh water?
- Kitchen: can you cook, and is there a fridge for your food?
- Electricity and Wi-Fi: important if you want to charge your phone, work online or plug in a camper.
- Season: is the campsite open in the month you travel?
- Shops: how far is the nearest market?
- Rules: quiet hours, fires and visitors — every camp has its own.
The weather shapes camping here more than anything else. Summers are hot and dry, winters are mild and green, and spring and autumn are lovely for sleeping outside. Even in the hottest season the nights here are cool, so bring something warm.
What about wild camping? We could not find one clear, current set of rules for camping on beaches or in forests in North Cyprus, so we don’t give advice on it. If you want to camp outside a campsite, ask locally first, and be very careful with fire in the dry months.
Why choose beach camping on Morphou Bay
The west of North Cyprus, around Güzelyurt, Lefke and Gemikonağı, is a quiet part of the island: citrus groves, small villages, the mountains behind and a long coastline on Morphou Bay. For beach camping it has a lot going for it:
- The sea is right there. At Yedidalga you sleep a short walk from the water.
- Wind and water sports. From April to October a steady thermal wind of around 20 knots blows at Yedidalga — the reason the first kite school in North Cyprus started here.
- History nearby. The ancient sites of Soli and Vouni are close to the village.
- Easy to reach. Yedidalga is 48 km from Nicosia, 75 km from Ercan airport and 105 km from Larnaca airport.

Heaven Camping: our beach camping in Yedidalga
Heaven Camping is a small, quiet camp ground inside our kitesurfing centre, next to the beach bar. It is surrounded by lemon and orange groves right next to the beach, and the tents stand in a shaded area set aside for camping. The nearest market is a five-minute walk away, and the camping is open all year round.
What the camping includes
- Hot showers, toilets and changing rooms
- A shared kitchen with a gas stove, an electric kettle and a refrigerator
- Electricity for charging, internet and similar needs
- Wi-Fi
- A shaded area for tents
- A fire and barbecue area
- A washing machine
- Sun-beds, music and the beach bar, open from 09:00 until sunset
Bring your own tent and equipment, or rent one of our 20 tents if you don’t have one — in summer, book it ahead. Sleeping bags are for rent too. The camp kitchen is open to all campers.

Camper stop for vans and motorhomes
Travelling with your own camper or van? Our camper stop costs 1100 TL (€20) per camper per night. It has electricity for your camper, fresh water, hot showers and clean toilets, and you can use the shared areas of the surf house. Read more in our guide to travelling North Cyprus by campervan.
Families and kids
Families are welcome. There is a swing and a slackline in the garden, the sea and the sun do the rest, and in the evening there is the camp fire. With love and respect, we keep a family atmosphere for everyone.
Our camp rules
We want everyone to feel comfortable and to keep the camp ground peaceful and clean. That is why we keep a few simple rules:
- Register before you settle — online or at the beach bar.
- Check-in is from 12:00 until sunset, check-out by 12:00.
- No visitors in the camping area — the beach bar is a good meeting point.
- Bring your own food and drinks and enjoy them in the kitchen or in the common areas — but not in the front area, where food and drinks are served by our beach bar.
- In the tent area: no fire, no sitting around and no picnics. Light fires only in the fire area.
- The camping area is for rest; gatherings and conversations move to the front area by the beach bar.
- Quiet hours are from 23:00 to 08:00: no loud music, no shouting, nothing that disturbs other guests. Kitchen lights are turned off at midnight, all lights at 01:00.
- Keep the place clean and be careful with the environment.
You can read them all on our camp info page.

How to book — and how to check in when you are already here
Before you come: the reservation form
Book online with our camping reservation form. It works on your phone: take a photo of your ID card or passport, and the form fills in your details. Then add your arrival date, the number of nights and how many you are, and choose where you sleep: your own tent, a tent from us, your own camper or one of our three campers. The form shows what is free on your dates. You receive a copy by email, with a link to book again next time.
The same form works for the camper stop and for our rental campers.
Already here? Check in online
Arrived without a booking? Use our check-in form. Your arrival date is today, so you only add how many days you are staying and how many you are. You can also register at the beach bar. Check-in is from 12:00 until sunset, and check-out is by 12:00.
Good to know: the forms don’t take payments — you pay in cash on arrival, with no deposit — and there is no refund for camping and caravan rentals.
